Week of March 5th

Hello Parents:

We would like to thank Christy and baby Josiah (Adelyn’s mom and baby brother) for coming in and allowing us to observe a feeding, watch as he was cradled, and his cool stroller! We also watched a video of him using his play mat. He was such a sweet and calm baby! The children learned that Josiah has four distinct cries! Be sure to ask your child why babies cry!

We also tasted baby food for new born babies, crawlers, toddlers, and big kids last week. We then made our own baby food recipes. The children assisted pureeing the foods and then combined their own unique 3 food blend. The children also came up with a name for their baby food. All of the students tried out their baby food during our Fit Friday healthy snack. Be sure to ask your child if they liked their baby food recipe.

This week will continue on with our baby study. We want to thank all the parents who have brought in baby items and big ticket baby items. The children are really enjoying exploring the various baby equipment.

We have also begun our Number Museum. Be sure to check out all the cool ways the children’s structures represent their numbers!

Next week we will have a guest Ms. Katie who is an infant psychotherapist.

Our Spring Break will be from Monday, March 26th – Friday, March 30th. We will have our third Parent and Child Activity on Friday, March 23rd from 9:30-10:30 in the school cafeteria. Remember that an adult must stay and cycle through the activities with their child. All students should attend this session.
We have a new addition to our Lending Library. We have added “Math Books” and activities (in large Ziploc bags) to our lending library. Please treat them like a regular library book and return the entire bag to the blue book return box. Please encourage your child to try the activity after reading the story!

Have a great week,
Ms. Bethanie & Ms. Maggie
