Upcoming events:  Wednesday, May 22, 2013 field trip to see the play “The Cat in the Hat.” The cost will be $10.  Please sure to be at Ray promptly at 8:45 am.  We will return to Ray at 11:45.

Friday, May 24, 2013: Final parent child activity 9:30-10:30 in the cafeteria.  (We have moved it back 15 minutes later to accommodate for breakfast in the cafeteria)

Wednesday, May 8, 2013: Half day for all students.  The afternoon class will attend class from 8:45-11:20.  No class for the morning class students.

Please remember to put sunscreen on your child before they come to school.  We will be conducting a variety of outdoor activities as the weather is warming up.  Our activities will include going to Bixler Park and visiting the “duck pond” on campus.

In addition, please remember that flip flops are very difficult for the children to run and play outdoors in.  Please dress your child in sandals that buckle/close so that the children can run/jump and explore without added risk.

Wish list:  If you have yet to bring in supplies for the classroom we are asking that you do so now.  Families with the last name P-Z please bring in the following:

*1 box facial tissues

*1 roll of paper towels

*1 box of gallon sized ziplock bags

*1 package of Crayola Markers

*1 ream computer paper

* Hand wipes (Wet ones, Baby wipes)

*2 bottles hand soap

New Application Process for Preschool: There is new information about the new application process for preschool on the CPS Early Childhood Education website.  Please visit or call the hotline at 312-229-1690 for the most updated information.  The applications deadline has been extended to  May 24, 2013.

We will be finishing up the school year with a study of the life cycle of the butterfly and a brief water study.  We will need extra paper towels for our water study, so if you would like to donate a roll or two we would really appreciate it.
