Week of April 20th

Dear Families,

Thank you for your engagement as we continue to transition into remote learning for our youngest learners. We continue to stress the importance of enjoying books together (talking and reading) and playing with your child, as well as encouraging independent play. These are the most important ways young children learn. Make remote learning work for your family and don’t hesitate to reach out to either classroom teacher for additional ideas tailored for your child.

  • Please create a CPS email account for your child if you have not yet. Directions were sent by email. Please reach out to me if you didn’t receive the email or need help.
  • Join our PreK classroom. An invite is waiting in your child’s CPS email inbox.
  • We will meet Monday and Wednesday this week from 10-10:30am as a combined PreK group for literacy ( and math ( We will NOT meet on Friday this week.
  • We will also have a breakfast meet specific for our classroom on Thursday this week from 10-10:45 ( We do not have a specific focus this week. We will encourage the children to take turns sharing with us and their classmates.
  • We will have office hours this week on M/T/W/F from 10:45am-11:45am the google meet ( Please join anytime during that hour to share, troubleshoot email setup or ask questions.
  • This is the week we were originally scheduled for conferences. If you would like to discuss your child’s learning in more detail- we can set up a phone conference or google meet. Please email me if you are interested.
  • Finally, please find the attached document that outlines two weeks of projects for PreK students.
  • If you haven’t heard- CPS classes will NOT resume this year. We will continue to update you on how we might be able to connect as a class, as we get closer to the end of the school year.

We are missing the children so much. Sending out huge amounts of gratitude and love!
