Happy New Year!
I want to thank all of the parents for helping out in the classroom! I really appreciated having extra hands in the classroom as I recovered from my minor medical issue!
We have started the New Year off with the exploration of Snow/Winter and Winter Animals. We will be finishing up our study in the next week or so. Be sure to check out the bulletin board display of the We will then move onto a short study of “Things We Love” to get ready for a Valentines Celebration. During our “Things We Love” study we will be revisiting the “kind manners” we use at school. We have been reminding the students to use kind words to each other, as well as a nice tone and volume when solving conflicts and conversing with each other.
As one of activities we will be decorating our Valentine’s Treat Bags. We are looking for donations of stickers, glitter, cool tape, unique stencils, and other “love inspired” decorations. We will be begin our decorating Monday, February 8 and finish Wednesday, February 10th. We have our celebration Thursday, February 11th. We are asking that if your child wishes to give out valentines to their classmates we are asking that you DO NOT ADDRESS the valentines to individual children. It is too hectic and time consuming to assist 20 children in searching for 20 different names and placing the correct cards in the correct bags. You can simply have your child sign (with your assistance if necessary) his or her name to the cards. If you would like to send a sweet or savory treat we require that all items are individually wrapped and store bought (no homemade items are allowed). We are also a nut, egg, and fish/shellfish classroom. Please DO NOT bring any treats containing any of the above mentioned items.
We are also asking that all parents please abide by the Ray School Late Pick-Up Policy. The policy is as follows.
• 1st Late Pick Up- Your child will be sent to classroom 306
• 2nd Late Pick Up- The student will be sent to classroom 306. Parents will receive a written notice to attend a required conference with school administration.
• 3rd Late Pick Up- Student will be sent to in-house emergency after care and a $25 fee will be charged. Parents will receive written correspondence outlining legal requirements.
If you have any questions please feel free to speak with me.
