We will continue to explore the various stories right up to Spring Break. We will begin our Eric Carle author/illustrator study after Spring Break.
Thank you to all of the parents who have made play dough for classroom. The children thoroughly enjoy using it in the classroom. We will need a new batch of play dough right after Spring Break, so please sign up if you are willing to make a batch for us.
Dates to Remember:
This Wednesday, March 25th from 1-4 p.m. there will be a Roaming Sign Up team here at Ray to take applications and the required paper work for families who would like to apply to Preschool For All. The team will be accepting applications for any Chicago Public Schools Ready to Learn Program. If you have a toddler who will be 3 before September 1, 2015 and you would like them to attend preschool please go to the Chicago Public Schools website (cps.edu) and type in Early Childhood: Ready To Learn Initiative in the search engine. Once the Early Childhood page comes up scroll down to the middle of the page to the “How To Apply” section and click on it. Follow the instructions and bring the required paperwork to one of the enrollment centers or bring the paper work to Ray on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 1-4. We do not do the actual enrollment for the preschool program, thus turning your paper work in at Ray does not guarantee a placement at Ray. March 13th,
Hello Parents:
Curriculum:
We are in the midst of our Classic/Fairy Tale study. The children have been thoroughly enjoying the various versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will finish up with Goldilocks next week and begin our 3 Little Pig study. If you have any cool material that we could use to build “houses” we would gladly take them to make cool creations.
We are in need of disinfectant wipes and facial tissue. If you would like to donate a box or container or two we would really appreciate it.
We are asking that the field trip money be turned in by March 30th. We have a limited number of parent slots available on this field trip, so if you would like to go please be sure to let me know ASAP.
Upcoming Events:
The Kohl Story Bus will visit Ray on March 20th. The Story Bus theme this year is The 3 Little Pigs. Our class will visit the Bus and have hands-on experience with activities that will enhance our classroom study of The 3 Little Pigs.

Hello Parents:
Curriculum:
Our Post Office/Letter study was very successful. Every family should receive a letter from their pre-k student, so keep your eye out for it. We ended the week with a Dr. Seuss celebration in honor of his 111th birthday. Be sure to ask your child, which Dr. Seuss book was their favorite.
We are moving onto the Classics and Fairy Tale for the next few weeks. Our first fairy tale will be Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the various versions of it. We will then be moving onto the various versions of The Three Little Pigs. If you have a unique version of these two classics we would love to borrow it.
