Next week is Spirit Week at Ray. Here’s the following “dress up” themes for each day:
Monday, 12/15: Nerd Day
Tuesday, 12/16: Decade Day
Wednesday, 12/17: Wacky Tacky / Opposite Day
Thursday, 12/18: Twin Day
Friday, 12/19: Ray Spirit Day
Correction:
The Parent & Child Activity is Friday, December 19th (not the 15th).
Curriculum:
Our study of the Gingerbread Man will continue until Winter Break. We Will be making up our own Gingerbread stories and as a cumulative activity we will be having a Gingerbread Celebration on Thursday. The children will be decorating Gingerbread cookies, having a preschool dance party (that will include the limbo and chicken dance), and watch either The Gruffalo or The Gruffalo’s Child. The children will vote on which video to watch… be sure to ask what decision was made (the children love both of the books, so it will be interesting to see which video they choose to watch). We want to thank all of the parents who have donated (and will be donating) toppings for the cookies.
Housekeeping:
As many of you are aware, the flu and other illnesses are at a high peak and we are trying our best to keep the classroom clean as germ free as possible. I have taken extra precautions to ensure that the room is a sanitized as good as possible. We are also reminding children to use their cough catchers (inside of their elbows) and thoroughly wash their hands. If your child is exhibiting a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or thick mucus please keep them home (for at least 24 hours after the last episode has occurred) so that the illness does not spread throughout the room.

Dates to Remember:
December 15- 19th Spirit Week
December 18th- Gingerbread Celebration
December 19th- Parent & Child Activity in the school cafeteria from 9:30-10:30. **Parents/Adults must stay for the hour and participate in the activities with their child.
