We would like to thank all of the parents who attended Parent/Teacher Conferences.
We would also like to thank Candice (Charlotte’s mom) for making the play dough for our class this week!
We will begin our “Celebration” topic of study this week. If you have any unique or special family traditions that would be interesting to share with the class, please let us know. We will be creating our “Setting the Turkey’s Free” creations. This creative activity will be conducted over several days, the children will be using paint, other art materials, and relaying their stories for dictation and some will use inventive spelling to convey their stories. We will also be producing celebration mind maps. The children will also explore shapes with the pattern blocks in the math center this week. A few of the books that we will be reading this week will be Setting the Turkey’s Free by W. Nikola-Lisa, Feast For 10 by Cathryn Falwell, and The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins.
We will have our first “Child and Parent Activity” on Tuesday, November 25th from 9:30-10:30 in the school cafeteria. All parents and students are invited to come and experience first hand what type of math activities the children are exposed to in our program. Both the morning and afternoon classes along with the two other preschool classrooms will be in attendance. There will be no regular class in the morning or the afternoon session. All students must have a parent (or adult) stay and rotate through the activities with them. Siblings are welcomed to attend as well.
We have sent out our second supply list to families whose last names begin with F-L. Please check your child’s mailbox for the updated list.
