Hope you had a great Spring Break! We are ready to move onto our exploration of the various stories of The 3 Little Pigs. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the various stories of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. We concluded our exploration with a “porridge party.” We want to send a special thanks Lindsey (Miles’ mom) for providing us with the delicious blueberries.
As many of you have noticed, Ms. Martinez is on a medical leave so that she can rest and recuperate her injured feet. The children made very sweet get well/miss you cards for her. Hopefully, she will be able to come back before the end of the school year. While Ms. Martinez is recuperating we want to welcome Ms. Danielle to our class. Ms. Danielle has quickly learned the children’s name and is melding into our classroom community quite smoothly. Please feel free to introduce yourself.
We are going to move our Week of the Young Child celebration (which generally takes place in April and includes the Teddy Bear Picnic) to the end of the school year. We will have a miniature celebration during the week of April 15-19th. The Teddy Bear Picnic will occur later this year.
We are still waiting to hear from the Office of Early Childhood about the plans for our preschool program for the next school year. As soon as we get information about next year’s program we will let you know. In years past we have closed down the preschool classroom and had new prospective families come in and fill out paper work and visit the classrooms, if this is to occur this year we will notify you as soon as possible.
If you have any special versions of The 3 Little Pigs that you would like to share with us that would be great!
News from PTA – The following letter was forwarded to teachers, thus I am forwarding it on to parents.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my proposal about Room Parents and finding better ways to coordinate volunteer work at Ray. I’ve been looking at this stack of green paper forms with all the details you filled out and it occurred to me we really need 3 things to make this process work:
First, we need a simple, automated way for Teachers, Room Parents, and PTA coordinators to request specific help.
Second, we need a simple interface for potential volunteers to see current needs with accurate contact information.
Third, we need a short document describing the basics of volunteering at Ray that we can easily share with parents, neighbors, and members of the University community who might be interested in supporting our school.
I’ve done my best create solutions to these 3 things.
